If you have a particular flavor of Hostess Twinkies left lying around from the holidays, you need to return them to the store.

According to the FDA, Hostess Brands, LLC has issued the recall of their Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies product because of a recall by Blommer Chocolate Company of the confectionery coating used contains milk powder ingredients that have been recalled by Valley Milk Products, LLC.

Hostess says the recall applies to the Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies only.  The UPC code is 888109111571. The snack cakes were sold in multi-pack boxes of nine individually wrapped cakes at stores nationwide.

There is a concern of Salmonella contamination, however no illnesses have been reported to date and none of the coating sampled has tested positive for Salmonella. According to the FDA notice Hostess is initiating this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.

If you who have purchased the affected product, the FDA urges you not to eat them and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
