No matter how festive you get with your Christmas decorations you probably don't have one of these.

A young girl in Atlanta, Georgia, was surprised to find one of the ornaments on their natural Christmas tree looking back at her and told her parents about it. They were dubious at first, but when one of the "ornaments" started moving they realized what was going on. Their tree had come with a surprise bonus, an Eastern Screech Owl.

The family then contacted a bird rescue organization who came and captured the owl, taking back for a quick checkup to make sure it was OK from its own big adventure.

The Newman family decided to make the best of their surprise Christmas gift and turn it into a gift for the Chattahoochee Nature Center with a fund raising campaign, you can learn more about that on Katie McBride Newman's facebook page.

And here all this time we thought it was supposed to be a partridge in a pear tree.
