For decades, The Burns Family in Wichita Falls delighted residents with their Christmas lights display on tenth street. In the 1970's, the old Christmas displays were donated to Midwestern State University. A Fantasy of Lights Committee was started to ensure this Christmas tradition lives on for years to come. Thanks to donations and volunteers the old Burns Christmas displays live on, along with several new ones that have been added throughout the years.
The Fantasy of Lights Officially Opens Up November 25th, 2024
At 6PM, the official opening ceremony for The Fantasy of Lights will be taking place just off of Taft Boulevard at Midwestern State University. Food trucks will be out on opening night and Santa himself will be taking pictures until 8PM that night. The Fantasy of Lights will shut off around 10PM, like it will every night throughout the Christmas season.
The Fantasy of Lights Will Run From November 25th through December 26th
For anyone coming into Wichita Falls for Thanksgiving or Christmas. You will always have plenty of time to check out The Fantasy of Lights as it stays open for just over a month. The displays turn on at dusk every night and shut off around 10PM. It's estimated around 200,000 people either walk or drive thru The Fantasy of Lights every year.
