This Saturday, the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank will be doing another emergency food pantry for those affected by the government shutdown.

Last night President Trump officially signed a bill that ended the longest government shutdown in the history of the country. Now with this bill signed, it's not going to be like flicking on a light and everything will be fully funded once again. Some agencies will, others could take a few days to get going again.

For federal employees, military personnel, and others that have been affected by the government shutdown. The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank will once again be doing a mobile pantry near Sheppard Air Force Base. They ask that you form a line from the south of Burkburnett Road. Texas Democrat Crosses Party Lines to End Government Shutdown

Six democrats in total voted against their colleagues to end the government shutdown.

  • Henry Cuellar of Texas
  • Don Davis of North Carolina
  • Adam Gray of California
  • Jared Golden of Maine
  • Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington
  • Tom Suozzi of New York.

For us in Texas, Henry Cuellar is a democrat who represents the Rio Grande and San Antonio area of Texas. To be fair, two Republicans also voted with the Democrats to extend the shutdown. Six Women Held in Wichita County for Attack at ICE Facility

These six women are currently on a federal hold in the Wichita County Jail as of September 23, 2025. They have been accused of planning an orchestrated attack at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas on the Fourth of July in 2025. You can read more on their case here.
