The Texas Lottery just crowned a new millionaire. I don’t know about you, but if I scored $1 million on a scratch ticket, it would be party time. However, I would probably keep it on the down low, so no one would suspect I just won a bunch of money. I mean, there’s a reason every lottery winner I’ve ever written about chose to remain anonymous.

The latest Texan to hit it big in the Texas Lottery is an anonymous Edinburg resident, according to a press release. The lucky player scored the $1 million jackpot on a Premier Play scratch ticket they bought at TXB 82, located at 780 Carter St., in Asherton. The store is eligible for a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, thanks to the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program.

There are still six $1 million jackpot-winning tickets out there. So far, only 4 of the 10 jackpots have been claimed. And hey, $25,000 is nothing to sneeze at. As of this posting, 7 of the 15 $25,000 prizes have been claimed in the game. Overall, Premier Play will pay over $137.5 million in prizes. The odds of winning a prize in the game are one in 3.55, including break-even prizes.

Aside from awarding billions of dollars in prizes to players since its inception in 1992, the Texas Lottery has also given billions of dollars to support education in the Lone Star State, as well as Texas veterans.
