Disturbed vocalist David Draiman took time during the band's set at Rockfest to comment on Vinnie Paul's recent death. He reminisced on the two's relationship, saying Paul had an "incredible heart" and "unbelievable level of musicianship."

He also told a story about how Paul had to sway his late brother, Dimebag Darrell, into understanding what Disturbed were about when they were a new act. Draiman says it was Paul who convinced Dimebag to give them more of a chance.

Towards the end of his speech he admits to getting "a little choked up," offering genuine words to his late friend. The band then begin playing a tribute to Paul, Dimebag and Pantera as a whole by covering "Walk." You can watch the entire speech and performance in the fan-filmed video below.

Paul died on Friday, June 22, at his residence in Las Vegas, Nev. at the age of 54. In addition to his star-making turn in Pantera and his most recent band Hellyeah, Paul also performed with Dimebag in the band Damageplan, and he collaborated with outlaw country veteran David Allan Coe in the Rebel Meets Rebel project.
