UPDATE: The city has released the following statement on the siren.

“The City of Wichita Falls Traffic Engineering Division would like to thank the public for bringing this issue to our attention. After visiting with the manufacturer’s representative, it appears that the keypad independently and sporadically malfunctioned in several local outdoor warning units.According to the representative, condensation can form inside the keypad, thus “bridging” the connection to activate the unit. The keypad is located inside the unit, but it is not sealed to protect it from air within the outdoor warning unit cabinet."

I still say it's ghosts or aliens, or ghost aliens.

Should we be panicking or not?!

I'll be honest with you guys, I did not hear this thing yesterday. Residents near Memorial Stadium said they heard this strange siren going off around 7:30 in the morning. I live just down the road from the stadium and didn't hear any alarm. Apparently residents near Lucy Park heard a similar alarm going off last week.

So what in the hell is happening?! Both KFDX and KAUZ have said that the city has checked their warning sirens and everything is operating just fine on their end. Uhm, I don't think so. They say they have heard this sound is when the batteries are low on the Tornado Warning Sirens, but after a check, all 53 of those batteries are fully charged.

So what is the explanation? In my opinion, ghosts. Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs, and cats living together - MASS HYSTERIA! It could just be nothing as well, but I prefer the ghosts theory since Halloween is this week.
