Dallas Mavericks Prevent Anti-Mavs Messaging in the Arena
Want to vent your frustrations about the Luka trade? Not inside American Airlines Center on Saturday.
Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Says "Freedom of Speech" Before Home Game
On Saturday, it was the first Dallas Mavericks home game since the Luka trade. The first time that Mavericks fans could let their voices be heard while the team was on the court. Looks like fans that wanted to 'protest' were only allowed to do this outside the arena on Saturday.
Protest Area Near the Dirk Statue
Having a protest area near a statue that reads, "Loyalty Never Fades Away" is the ultimate kick in the d*** for Mavs fans. Metal barricades surrounded the Dirk statue on Saturday. If you wanted to vent about the Mavericks moves over the past week. You had to do it here. Fans who attempted to protest inside the building were not permitted inside. Anti Mavericks signs littered the trash bins at the entrance to the American Airlines Center on Saturday.
Fans Told They Could Not Start Fire Nico Chants
As I was in attendance on Saturday, I heard no 'Fire Nico' chants. Which was quite surprising. Turns out anytime one got some momentum, in a section. Fans were told they would be ejected for doing so. Thankfully the Mavericks were winning on Saturday, so that helped ease people's concerns, but after the game we got some heartbreaking news.
Anthony Davis Missing at Least a Month with an Injury
What we all feared with this trade became a reality in just three quarters of his first game. Anthony Davis went out with an injury. The latest reports have him out at least a month and some are reporting he may need season ending surgery. If this happens, it will be the worst trade in sports history. We all knew this was a possibility with drafting Davis (except for somehow the GM of the Dallas Mavericks).

Today Luka is expected to make his debut with the Los Angles Lakers. If we find out that Davis needs surgery and Luka goes off tonight. Nico Harrison should just resign because Dallas will never let you forget this day until you're out of the building.
