The Dallas Mavericks sensitivity is at an all time high and several fans learned this last night.

Several Dallas Mavericks Fans Escorted Out of American Airlines Center Monday

Welcome to the new world of being a fan of the Dallas Mavericks where any negativity directed towards management gets you a nice pat on the back from security. Something as simple as 'Fire Nico' is a big no-no inside the AAC. I was in attendance at the game on Saturday and did not notice that fans were now shown on the jumbotron. This meant no Kiss Cam or something to that affect throughout the entire game. Well on Monday they brought it back and one fan got his five minutes of fame.

Fan Mouths 'Fire Nico' During Karaoke Segment

One fan stood up and pretended to do karaoke and got himself on the jumbotron. He mouthed 'Fire Nico' and later in the game pulled out a sign with the same message. He was escorted out of the arena for this.

Official NBA Code of Conduct

  • Players and fans respect and appreciate each other.
  • Guests will be treated in a professional and courteous manner by all arena and team personnel.
  • Guests will enjoy the basketball experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language and obscene gestures.
  • Guests will consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
  • Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the court will be immediately ejected from the arena.
  • Guests will smoke in designated smoking areas only.
  • Obscene or indecent messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.
  • Guests will comply with requests from arena staff regarding arena operations and emergency response procedures.

I have bolded the two rules for the official NBA Code of Conduct that I believe the Mavericks are trying to enforce. I guess 'Fire Nico' is offensive inside the confines of the AAC or the request that you stop doing that from arena staff is enough to get you escorted out.

Dallas Mavericks Lost in Overtime and Jason Kidd Refuses Postgame Comments

Normally after a game you hear from the head coach on what went wrong or right depending on the outcome of the game. Looks like after last night Jason Kidd had nothing to say. It's OK, Jason. Your actions speak louder than words. It's a s*** show in Dallas and we're not even at the All Star Break. If things keep going like this, that Fire Nico chant will hopefully become a reality.
