Today the Dallas Mavericks will be taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas. For a period of time, the NBA had jerseys for ONLY Christmas Day and sadly the Mavericks never wore won. Here is what they missed out on.

2008-2011 Snowflakes
Finally we come to a time where the Dallas Mavericks finally have a Christmas Day game. In the year 2011, the Dallas Mavericks are playing the Miami Heat on Christmas Day. Mavericks fans get to see a Christmas jersey for them. Just one problem.
NBA Lockout of the 2011 Season
Going into the 2011-2012 season the NBA was locked out and did not play until a new agreement was setup. The NBA season officially kicked off on Christmas Day 2011. The 'problem' for the Mavericks, they were the NBA champions the previous year. It's customary for the champions to wear the jersey with Finals trophy on it for the first home game.
Mavericks Miss Out on Christmas Tradition Again
As you can see the Miami Heat got to wear the snowflake jerseys on this day, while the Mavericks are wearing the NBA Finals jersey. Adidas was in charge of the NBA uniforms during this time and since the NBA went to Nike. No more Christmas jerseys have been made. We will see if they ever come back, but sad to see the Mavericks never got their own.
