Last night the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns got to play in the snow. This will never happen at a Dallas Cowboys home game and in fact only happened one time ever.

November 25, 1993 the ONLY Snow Home Game in Cowboys History

Everyone enjoys watching a snow football game (at least from the comfort of your warm couch). Sadly, this is tradition that is slowly dying in the NFL with more and more domed stadiums becoming popular. Last night Cleveland fans were complaining that these snow games will be going away when they move into their new stadium in just a few years. With AT&T Stadium being a dome (even with a piece of the roof collapsing recently), a snow Dallas game will never happen again in North Texas.

A Blue Norther is a local cold front that occurs during the winter season which brings dark black and blue skies, cold temperatures, and a strong north to northwest wind to the southern Plains. This hit Texas Stadium before the annual Cowboys Thanksgiving game and has been dubbed 'The Sleet Bowl'.

This game has become infamous in Dallas Cowboys history. Not just because of the snow, but because it added to the list of infamous Leon Lett blunders. Don't get me wrong, Leon Lett was a huge part of the Dallas Cowboys success. It's just hard whenever you hear his name, not to picture one of his mishaps. This one cost the Dallas Cowboys a huge win.

Leon Lett's Costly Fumble

All the Cowboys had to do was not touch the ball. Leon Lett slips in the snow. Miami recovers with three seconds left, kicks the field goal and wins the game. We all know the Cowboys would go onto win the Super Bowl this season. However, people forget the New York Giants were right on the Cowboys heels for winning the division that year. The Cowboys thankfully won five straight to close out the 1993 season on their way to their second straight Super Bowl. Thankfully Leon did not fumble the ball in this Super Bowl, like he did one year prior.

Leon's Other Infamous Mistake

To the teams that have the outdoor stadiums in the colder weather environments. Thank you, it's always nice to have a snow game the next few months.
