Since 2002, the NFL has started the regular season a few days early with the Super Bowl Champion playing in the game. With the exception of 2019 where the NFL decided to give one of the oldest rivalries in the league (Green Bay/Chicago) a game to salute the league's 100th season. Typically the game is played on Thursday, but it has moved due to scheduling issues throughout the years. Also scheduling issues has prevented the Super Bowl Champions from hosting the game in year's past as well.

The full NFL schedule will release Wednesday, but this morning we got a little teaser for the upcoming season. The Cowboys will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on September 4th. The Eagles will raise their second Super Bowl banner that night and it will not be the first time the Cowboys are the opponent on NFL Kickoff Day.

The Buccaneers got the victory on their banner night thanks to a last minute field goal putting them on top 31-29. Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein missed a field goal and also an extra point in the game that ended up being big misses as the game came to a close.
