Over the weekend it was the Loco for Cinco event downtown and some gorgeous murals were created as a part of the event.

This past Saturday was the annual Cinco de Mayo event in Wichita Falls called Loco for Cinco. A full day of activities celebrating Hispanic culture. This included music, dancing food, and if you can believe it even a sanctioned boxing match happened downtown during this event. A mural competition was also a part of the event and one artist showed off his work this week.

Armando Aguirre made the road trip from Dallas for the event on Saturday and shared a video on his TikTok of his mural from beginning to end. It's amazing what these artists can do in front of a live crowd that is there for basically a big party. I did some more digging into Armando's work and it turns out he just did another mural that I am huge fan of.

Armando teamed up with Juan Velazquez for the viral 'Fire Nico' mural in Dallas not too long ago. How this mural has not become a reality at this point is still shocking to me. Turns out Juan Velazquez was also in town for the mural competition as well. You can check out some of his work here.
If you're still in the Cinco de Mayo mood. Yesterday I put up the top ten highest rated Mexican restaurants in Wichita Falls. Check them out below to make sure you give all ten a try at some point.
