
Wichita Falls Summer Camp for Kids That Recently Lost Someone
Hospice of Wichita Falls is offering a summer camp in a few weeks that helps children that recently lost a relative or a friend.

This morning Michaela Fielding stopped by the studio to talk about the upcoming Camp Grin Again with Hospice of Wichita Falls. This is something that Hospice offers during the summer for children in our area dealing with a loss. This does not have to be a recent loss either. If you feel like this is something your child could benefit from. The offer two camps depending on how old your child is.
Camp Grin Again Teen Information
If you have a child who is between the ages of 13-18. They can sign up for the first camp that happens June 9-13 this summer. This is a week long half day camp for teens.
- A supportive setting where teens can connect with others who have experienced similar losses.
- Encourages open conversations about grief, emotions, and coping strategies in a way that resonates with teens.
- Engaging activities such as journaling, team-building exercises, and creative projects help participants process their grief.
- Emphasizes resilience, personal growth, and finding ways to honor their loved ones.
Camp Grin Again Kid Information
If you have a child who is between the ages of 5-12.They can sign up for the second camp that takes place July 14-18 this summer. It's also a week long half day camp for elementary to about middle school aged kids.
- Provides a safe space for younger children to explore their emotions through play, storytelling, and hands-on activities.
- Age-appropriate grief education helps children understand and express their feelings in healthy ways.
- Activities include art, music, games, and movement to encourage self-expression and healing.
