Bugfest Coming to Wichita Falls This Friday

Looking for a family friendly event in Wichita Falls now that school is out? Check this out on Friday night at River Bend Nature Center.

Kids are home from school the next few months and you're trying to find something to do with them. River Bend Nature Center right here in Wichita Falls is a great place to go for the day. Something different they're doing this Friday is called Bugfest. Oklahoma State University is home to the only insect petting zoo in Oklahoma and they're bringing some of those insects right here to Wichita Falls.

Insect Adventure at Oklahoma State University offers 25 different species for you to interact with and some of them will be making the trip right here to Wichita Falls. Their normal exhibit in Stillwater features spiders, scorpions, and tarantulas. Also less intimidating bugs like centipedes, cockroaches, and walking-sticks.

For anyone interested in attending this Friday, the event starts at 6PM. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for kids, anyone under one gets in for free. If you're a member at River Bend Nature Center, you get $1 off per person. Besides interacting with the bugs that Oklahoma State is bringing down to Wichita Falls. They will also have crafts, games, and a bug costume contest. So if your little one has a bug Halloween costume lying around, put it to use for your chance to win.
