Body Found Along 287 Near Henrietta

Texas DPS reports that they have identified a body found under an overpass in Clay County on Thursday.

The deceased man has been identified as 61-year-old Ronald Pierce Daniels of Las Vegas. Daniels' body was found by a bridge surveyor who was inspecting an overpass about 4 miles southeast of Henrietta at around 3 pm Thursday, August 15.

Investigators say Daniels was southbound on U.S. 287 when his bike left he roadway, entered the center median and crashed. It appears his 2001 Harley Davidson may have suffered a flat tire before the crash and that could have caused the accident. Daniels had been reported as missing from Amarillo since August 8.

Justice of the Peace John Swenson pronounced Daniels deceased. Daniels body was sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners office for autopsy. The crash remains under investigation by DPS.
