These ranches are used for all sorts of things. Hunting, agriculture, and if you can believe it even space exploration. Let's see who has the biggest ranches in the state.

10. Corn Ranch Owned by Jeff Bezos

The 165,000-acre Corn Ranch maybe the most interesting one on the list. Mainly for the fact it is known as Launch Site One for Blue Origin, which is the space technology company Jeff Bezos owns. When he launches into space, it is done from the Corn Ranch property. It is located just outside of Van Horn, Texas which is in the western part of the state.

9. Kennedy Ranch Owned by The John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation

The 235,000 acre ranch was originally a cattle ranch. Nowadays a bulk of it's revenue comes from hunting trips. People can book hunting trips for deer, quail, nilgai, feral hogs, or turkeys. Over 9,000 acres of the property is also a wind farm that generates a lot of revenue for Gulf Wind who leases the land. The Kennedy Ranch is located in Sarita, Texas which is in the southern part of the state.

8. O2 Ranch Owned by Lyke Brothers INC.

For many years this ranch was known as a cattle operation. Nowadays the 272,000 acre property is used for hunting and ecotourism. The ranch is also looking to restore the land to it's native condition after the cattle operation changed the landscape.

7. Longfellow Ranch Owned by the Mitchell Family

Also sitting at 272,000 acres in West Texas is the Longfellow Ranch located just outside of Fort Stockton. The cattle ranch is one source of revenue, but the Piñon gas field also sits on the property. People can also rent out a five star luxurious lodge on the property for events.

6. 6666 Ranch Owned by Taylor Sheridan

It's appropriate this one comes in at number 6. The 6666 Ranch has been a part of television recently. Appearing on Yellowstone and Landman, who were both created by Taylor Sheridan. Thanks to an investment group lead by him, he now owns the property as of 2020. It sits on 275,000 acres near Guthrie, Texas. The ranch’s management units include 119 pastures that vary from a few hundred acres to nearly 16,000 acres of grassland and cultivation and include 18 solar wells, 29 windmills, and ten submersibles with 66 tubs.

5. Brewster Ranch Now Owned by the State of Texas

The Texas General Land Office officially took control of the Brewster Ranch back in October of 2024. Texas currently owns 353,785 acres of the property, but the Brewster Ranch sits on 424,000 acres. Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, MD said, “By securing this large swath of land along our southern border, the GLO is not only blocking foreign adversaries from purchasing this land but also ensuring this mineral-rich property will be generating revenue for the school children of Texas.”

This ranch is an important piece of Texas history. They're said to have the first first rotary drilling equipment in the entire state. The 500,000 acre property is not only big for oil, but also cattle as well. When it was first sold in 1887, the property came with 100,000 cattle. The ranch is located in Southwest Texas near Victoria.

3. Waggoner Ranch Owned by Stan Kroenke

If you don't know Stan Kroenke, he's also the owners of the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL. Many think this ranch is the biggest in the state, but it's the largest ranch 'under one fence' as they say. The 535,000 acre property is all confined in one area, unlike many of the ranches listed above. They have oil, farming, and a recreational division for revenue which also includes a lake on the property.

2. Briscoe Ranch Owned by Briscoe Family

The 640,000 acre property sits in South Texas just outside of Catarina. When it comes to cattle, they're one of the largest in the state. Dolph Briscoe Jr. is one of the descendants of the original owners of the land. He was actually a two term Texas governor during the 1970's.

1. King Ranch Owned by The Descendants of Captain Richard King

Finally we come to our number one spot fit for a king. The King Ranch sits on 825,000 acres in Texas. Fun fact, the entire state of Rhode Island is approximately 776,957 acres. Today’s King Ranch is a major agribusiness with interests in cattle ranching, farming (citrus, cotton, grain, sugar cane, and turfgrass), luxury retail goods, and recreational hunting.
