Beastie Boys’ Action Figure Sales to Benefit Charities

Move over, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Nelly: the Beastie Boys have also been immortalized as commercially available action figures. And, in a rather superhero-like gesture, Mike “Mike D” Diamond, Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Adam “MCA” Yauch are donating the proceeds from sales of their limited-edition figures to charity.

The action figures — resembling those featured in the Spike Jonze-directed video for ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win’ — cost $750 per set of three and can be purchased through the group’s website. Each set comes in a metal box and includes stands, clothing, extra hand attachments and other accessories. With each order, the Beasties will include a two-disc deluxe version of ‘Beastie Boys Anthology: The Sounds of Science’ (while supplies last).

As the Beastie Boys explain, “These are some real limited edition, explicit, bottle service/V.I.P. type items.”

The Pablove Foundation and Alex’s Lemonade Stand, both of which work with children who are battling cancer, are the charitable recipients.
