No matter where you shop your items are tallied up at the cash register with a barcode scanner. Usually they just beep to let the operator know that the item has been scanned. These guys figured out how to make them do so much more.

Rather than sending the signal to a computer to add it to your list of checked items they sent the signal to an amplifier and speakers. By changing the size of the the codes and manipulating the reader they're able to produce an amazing form of electronic techno dance music.

Their performances aren't limited to cafes and kiosks, either. Here's a video of a live performance where the barcodes were printed onto a dress and the young lady gets just as involved in making the music as the the two young men wielding the scanners.

Move over Blue Man Group, you've been upstaged.
