If you missed this morning, a two story apartment building caught fire and the Wichita Falls Fire Department has released a statement on the situation.

Watch Apartment Fire in Downtown Wichita Falls This Morning

If you happened to driving near the overpass in Downtown Wichita Falls around 6AM today. You might have noticed an apartment fire. You can watch a video from a local Wichita Falls citizen named Ashton Raine Vallier just past 6:30 this morning. According to the Wichita Falls Fire Department, the fire broke out around 6:13 this morning and additional crews were called out to the scene to contain the blaze.

Vagrants Maybe to Blame for this Building Catching Fire

Today was a brutally cold day in Wichita Falls where in the overnight hours we were in the single digits. Apparently some folks got into this building in an attempt to keep warm. The fire department claims several vagrants were in the building and they were all safely evacuated from the scene. According to the Wichita Falls Fire Department, it is not the first time something like this has happened at this exact building.

It is apparently the second time in four months that this particular building as had a fire. The fire department is currently investigating the cause of the fire and we will wait for them to release more info on the fire.
