It's Super Bowl weekend and a NFL player is back home helping clean the community.

Adrian Colbert Returns to Wichita Falls

Adrian Colbert born right here in Wichita Falls, but attended Mineral Wells High School. After some years in college at The University of Texas, then transferring to Miami. Adrian has been an NFL journeyman, being a part of ten different NFL franchises. He most recently spent some time on the Chicago Bears pictured above. Well Adrian put some work in with Wichita Falls District 2 City Councilor Robert Brooks.

Robert Brooks Wants to Clean Up District 2

Shout out to Robert Brooks for asking folks in his area to point out what needs to be done to clean up his district. About a week ago he showed off some pot holes that need to be fixed, but other citizens started showing neglected areas that need some cleaning. This included a piece of property littered with trash.

As you can see from the pictures above, this is a mess. Mr. Brooks along with several people helped clean this up just over a week ago. You can check some photos of what the property looks like now below.

Wichita Falls Comes Together to Help Clean Up Property

Mr. Brooks isn't just stopping at trash. He's also looking to clean up branches, weeds, and debris around his district. That is when Adrian Colbert came in yesterday to help Mr. Brooks with his cleanup. They started on Third and Farris Streets, finishing their day at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The group lead by Brooks and Colbert were cutting grass, hauling away tree limbs, weed eating, and picking up trash.

Adrian Colbert told KFDX, he plans to come back to Wichita Falls once a month for mentorship programs and community cleanups like this. Shout out to everyone that helped with this over the past week or so. Mr. Brooks looks like he truly cares about his district and is doing everything he can to make it better.
