The City of Wichita Falls Animal Services Center is waiving all adoption fees starting today. You have until July 8th to take advantage of this, so stop on by their facility at 1207 Hatton Road here in Wichita Falls to see if you have a connection with some of the lovely dogs and cats that are available right now.

Rules for Adopting an Animal in Wichita Falls
- Must be 18 or older to adopt
- Make sure you are ready for the commitment of a new pet, and everyone in the household is ready as well.
- Application- fill out an application and turn it in.
- Fence Check- if you reside within the city limits of Wichita Falls, we will put in a request for a fence check with Animal Control. When the fence check is done, we will call you and let you know if the fence check passed or did not pass and the reason why. (No Fence Check required for cat adoption, persons in apartments)
- Current Animals you own- all animals dogs and cats, indoor or outdoor living at the address listed on the adoption application, must be current on rabies vaccinations and city licenses prior to the applicant being approved for adoption.
- Pre-paid Spay/Neuter and Rabies Vaccine- prior to completion of the adoption, you will need to go to your Veterinarian and pre-pay for the spay/neuter of the animal you are adopting. Animal Services will drop the pet off at the appointment, and you will pick them up after their surgery. Rabies vaccination is also due at this time.
- You may choose a Veterinarian up to 30 miles outside the city limits of Wichita Falls, a fee will be charged for delivery outside the city limits.
- Animals too young to be spayed/neutered at the time of adoption will still require the Pre-paid receipt from your Veterinarian for the spay/neuter with an appointment made within 90 days of adoption. ( Section 828.003 of the Texas Health and Safety Code)
- Adoption Fee-WAIVED (Until July 8th)
