The 5 Most Expensive and Insane Texas High School Football Stadiums
Yes, it’s cliché to say everything is bigger in Texas. But often, it’s true.
Take high school football, for instance. Sure, states like California and Florida are known for having great high school football programs.
But we take our love for the game to another level here in the Lone Star State.
There will always be those who complain about the amount of tax dollars that are poured into Texas high school football stadiums and I get it. But I can’t help but admire the facilities detailed in the below video.
The TikTok account IfTheseWallsCouldTalk recently shared a video of the 5 most expensive high school stadiums in Texas. Let me tell you, the amount of money that went into these stadiums is staggering.
As you would probably expect, one thing all the stadiums have in common is that they were built in the 21st century. And they’re also all in either the Dallas or Houston area.
Interestingly, the current most expensive stadium also happens to be the oldest of the five. Cy-Fair FCU Stadium in Cypress was built in 2006 for a whopping $80 million.
In comparison, the second most expensive is Legacy Stadium in Katy, which opened in 2018 at a price tag of $72 million.
Even though Cy-Fair FCU Stadium has held the crown for being the most expensive high stadium in the state for almost two decades, I would be willing to bet money that will change within the next ten years. Mark my words.
