4 Texas GameStop Locations Set to Close This Week
In yet another sign of the times, 4 Texas GameStop locations are set to be closed this week.
It’s such a bummer to see something you love go away. That’s the thing about the internet that never really crossed my mind back in the 90s when it became widespread. I had no idea it would kill cool things like video and record stores.

Sure, streaming music and videos is efficient, and I’ve fully embraced it. But I sometimes long for the days when you had to peruse the aisles of your favorite store in search of something to watch or listen to.
Now that most people simply download the latest video games, video game stores are slowly becoming extinct. According to the GameStop Store Closing List website, the following Texas locations will close their doors for good effective Friday (January 18).
Store #551 - Dallas, TX - White Rock Marketplace, 11255 Garland Rd.
Store #2699 - Dallas, TX - Pinnacle Park S.C., 1515 N. Cockrell Hill Rd.
Store #4269 - Frisco, TX - Stonebriar Centre, 2601 Preston Rd. #1028
Store #3292 - Garland, TX - Firewheel Town Center, 355 Coneflower Dr.
It’s no surprise to see video game stores go by the wayside. As I mentioned, most people don’t even buy a physical copy of video games anymore. Hell, the Xbox Series S doesn’t even have a tray to put a disc in, which is why I bought a Series X. I will always prefer a physical copy to a download.
