The 2024 Top 5 Sports Searches in Texoma Might Surprise You

I must admit to being surprised by 2024’s top sports search terms for Wichita Falls and Lawton. 

I have a love/hate relationship with the internet. I love the fact that I can learn about any topic you can think of, but I hate the fact that so much of the information online can’t be trusted. 

I would bet a dollar to a donut that you and I are just alike in that we google everything under the sun. I can’t tell you how many times a day I do a google search (even though I’m pretty sure I could find the info if I was willing to give it a try).

I’m also going to go out on a limb and assume that since you’re reading this, you’re a sports fan here in Texoma as well. The thing about being a sports fan in our neck of the woods is that your proximity to the Red River changes a lot. 

Those of us who live south of the Red River tend to root for all things Texas. Likewise, our friends north of the river tend to root for Oklahoma teams. I’m mostly referring to college teams as the Oklahoma City Thunder are the only major professional team in the Sooner State. 

Surprisingly, not a single Texas or Oklahoma team appeared in the top Google searches for 2024. None. Nada. Zilch. 

Don’t get me wrong—the results were some of the biggest sporting events of the year, but I did find the list surprising nonetheless.
