10 Actresses Whose Acting Will Never Be as Important as Their Looks
We take a look at the women in Hollywood whose acting abilities play little, if any, role in their overall success and notoriety.
Not saying its a bad thing, but there are many women in Hollywood who get people into the theater, mainly guys, because of the way they look and not because of how talented they are as an actress. While there might be some on this list who are decent actresses, some here couldn't act their way out of a low-budget porn scene.
Be honest, have you ever seen a Jessica Alba movie because of her acting? Hell no! Let's keep this simple, how many of her roles required she wear a bikini or less? Case closed.
Jessica Biel is another actress we can ask, "How many roles have required her to wear a bikini or less?" Be it a bikini or stripping down to her underwear because she thinks Adam Sandler's gay, Biel's acting has never been at the forefront of her career. Recently, when she became Mrs. Timberlake and her career dried up (probably not related), she fell back on playing a stripper who takes it off and pours candle wax on her rack.
I think this is a case we really don't have to argue.
Ms. Daddario started off as the pretty girl from 'Percy Jackson', but then didn't have a breakout role for a while. She showed up as Leatherface's cousin in 'Texas Chainsaw 3D', but the most impressive part of that movie was the tape used to keep her shirt on her boobs. It wasn't until she completely stripped down in the first season of 'True Detective', a nude scene considered to be one of the best, if not thee best, of the year, that she got major attention. Since then, her impressive yabbos have propelled her chest-first into the mainstream alongside Dwayne Johnson in 'San Andreas' and the upcoming 'Baywatch' film.
"Hey! Halle has an Oscar!" Yes, she does. And it was for a role in which she had a graphic sex scene with Billy Bob Thornton. Sure, she's had some decent roles, but with movies like 'Swordfish' and 'Die Another Day', her acting wasn't even a consideration. Is she a great actress? That's debatable. Keep in mind, her African accent was so bad as Storm that she was told to drop it completely by the third X-Men film. And do we even need to talk about 'Catwoman' or that suit?
Here's a lady who used her looks to fool geeks into thinking she was also one on 'Attack of the Show', parlaying that into the cover of 'Playboy' (though not a pictorial) and movie roles. When she couldn't get mainstream films apart from barely 30 seconds in 'Iron Man 2', she dropped her top for Channing Tatum in 'Magic Mike' and then Marvel came calling again. Nothing in her resume can say she got the role of Psylocke in 'X-Men Apocalypse' for any reason other than she looks the part.
Going as far back as her breakout role in 'Friends', Aniston's looks have always been a driving factor. Hell, she even inspired hairstyles in the 90s. As of late, the well-aging Aniston has taken on a string of roles showing more skin than acting range. The scantily clad horny dentist in 'Horrible Bosses', the stripper posing as a soccer-mom in 'We're the Millers', and her deleted topless scene in 'The Break Up', Aniston is making sure to bank on her body while she can.
Her so-called acting is so dull that she had to stay in a bra for the bulk of 'X-Men: First Class' just so the audience didn't fall asleep.
You can never look at a Denise Richards performance and call it wasted potential unless she didn't wear a tight shirt. Apart from dodging the bullet with her marriage to Charlie Sheen, Richards will always be best known for her skintastic romp with Neve Campbell in 'Wild Things' and her horrific acting opposite Pierce Brosnan as an unbelievable nuclear physicist Bond girl in 'The World is Not Enough'.
No matter what Shannon Elizabeth ever does in Hollywood, which hasn't been much in the last 15 years, she will never reach the peaks she did as Nadia in 'American Pie', one of the most iconic nude scenes of the 1990s.
