While the recent heavy rain is definitely needed in Wichita Falls, it does not come without a price.

May is on its way to being the wettest month in history for Wichita Falls with well over 12 inches of rain so far. Current 2015 rainfall totals for Wichita Falls are more than double the average for this time of year at over 20 inches.

Rising Flood waters in the Tanglewood addtion, Scotland Park, and areas of the city’s east side and around and near MPEC forcing many residents to leave their homes and businesses.


The City went up with the Department of Public Safety today to survey water levels along the Wichita River, Holliday Creek, Lake Wichita and Lake Arrowhead. The lake levels are unbelievable.
