With Jane’s Addiction changing the release date for ‘The Great Escape Artist’ more than once, it’s understandable if some of the band’s fans had serious doubts that the album would ever see the light of day. But two of its songs, ‘End to the Ties’ and ‘Irresistible Force,’ have been circulating for weeks, and the latest evidence that the album really does exist is the recently released cover art.

For fans of Van Halen‘s original lineup, the band’s last three decades or so have been punctuated with more than a few frustrations and disappointments, including their brief reunion with David Lee Roth in 1996, bassist Michael Anthony’s rudely handled dismissal, and an overall lack of new music since a pair of new tracks were appended to the double-disc ‘Best of Both Worlds’ compilation way back

First it was Sept. 27, then it was Oct. 4. Now the latest release date for the new Jane’s Addiction album, ‘The Great Escape Artist,’ is Oct. 18.

Evanescence, the rock band that shot to fame with its 2003 single ‘Bring Me to Life,’ is back with a new song and an upcoming album. The Little Rock, Arkansas-based group has had a bit of a revolving door with members over the years, but the current line-up retains powerful singer Amy Lee, who co-wrote the new track ‘What You Want’ with bassist Tim McCord and guitarist Terry Balsamo.

The Beastie Boys’ new single, ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win,’ already had a nifty, Spike Jonze-directed video to its name — but the Beasties aren’t stopping there. The venerable rap trio has just released an EP that backs the song’s single edit (featuring an appearance by Santigold) with five remixes and an a cappella version that invites fans to add their own spin to the track.

Foo Fighters have released a full music video for their new single "White Limo" from their, still untitled, new album, due April 12. The campy video for the track, one of the band's most aggressive songs to-date, features Motorhead's Lemmy. The rock legend drives a white Cadillac limo through Los Angeles picking up members of the Foo Fighters, while drinking and smoking behind the wheel. Check out the video after the jump.
