For my money, Mastodon is the best band to come out of the last ten-plus years and I just can't see them disappointing me any time soon. Yeah, I prefer Leviathan to anything they've done since but that doesn't take away from the fact that I love everything they've done so far...to me, every album just feels like a natural progression for the band.

Feist Says Mastodon Cover Won’t Be "Cute"
Mastodon and indie pop goddess Feist announced late last year that they would be partnering in an unusual fashion for the annual independent retail extravaganza known as Record Store Day. Each act will cover one of the other’s songs. Since Mastodon traffic in fuzzed out and forward-thinking hard rock and Feist camps out in the pop world, it’s an eyebrow-raising endeavor in theory. But we have high hopes for the execution.

A lot of people like to rip on Mastodon for their less than perfect vocals in a live setting but to be honest with you it was never that big of a distraction to me but I can't help but notice that the vocal performance is pretty solid on this one.
