This Year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival Lineup Has Been Announced
Giggity, Giggity - there's nothing that gets my juices flowing quite like a major festival announcement.

Mastodon's Troy Sanders has no less than six heads break simultaneously in Orange's new short film promoting their Micro Terror amplifier.
Mastodon decided to go with one of the deeper tracks from The Hunter with their first official live video from the album.
One of 2012′s best tours is coming to Dallas on April 19th - and The Buzz is hooking you up with tickets - but Mastodon, Opeth and Ghost first delivered a unique blend of atmospheric and hypnotic metal courtesy of the Heritage Hunter in New York City on Wednesday (April 11).
Mastodon singer-bassist Troy Sanders recently sat down with Hysteria Magazine during the band’s residency on Australia’s touring Soundwave Festival. During the interview, Sanders took the opportunity to dispel the rumors once and for all about a reported altercation between Mastodon and System of a Down, which put Mastodon singer-guitarist Brent Hinds in the hospital.
Hey I ain't judgin'...if them dudes wish to explore the nether-regions of their mind then good on 'em. And far be it from me to encourage anything other than a hellraising lifestyle.
For my money, Mastodon is the best band to come out of the last ten-plus years and I just can't see them disappointing me any time soon. Yeah, I prefer Leviathan to anything they've done since but that doesn't take away from the fact that I love everything they've done so far...to me, every album just feels like a natural progression for the band.
Mastodon and indie pop goddess Feist announced late last year that they would be partnering in an unusual fashion for the annual independent retail extravaganza known as Record Store Day. Each act will cover one of the other’s songs. Since Mastodon traffic in fuzzed out and forward-thinking hard rock and Feist camps out in the pop world, it’s an eyebrow-raising endeavor in theory. But we have high hopes for the execution.
I was surfin' the old interwebs earlier and came across this video of Mastodon doing "Black Tongue" on the October 18 edition of the U.K.'s Later Live with Jools Holland.
A lot of people like to rip on Mastodon for their less than perfect vocals in a live setting but to be honest with you it was never that big of a distraction to me but I can't help but notice that the vocal performance is pretty solid on this one.
In what is sure to come as no surprise to anyone, I've decided to go with Mastodon's new disc "The Hunter" as my metal pick of the week.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that the video for a song called "Curl of the Burl" would be balls-out trippy but hey...you never know what to expect from Mastodon. Even after seeing the video I still didn't know what the hell a burl was so I Googled it. Turns out it's a jacked up tree.
Because they're just that damn cool, Mastodon has made their upcoming album The Hunter available for streaming in the YouTube clip below.
File this one under "Oh Hell Yeah"...Mastodon has released another song from The Hunter and it puts this old-school Mastodon fan in high spirits. "Spectrelight" is Mastodon sounding a little more like their earlier stuff reminiscent of Blood Mountain and my personal favorite, Leviathan.
The date is nearing...
