The new album from Soil, Whole, is the band's first 100% independent release and the first to feature original vocalist Ryan McCombs since 2004's Re.De.Fine.

In addition to the return of McCombs, Whole has been lauded as a return to the original sound that turned fans on to Soil. In fact, a press release for the album went as far as to call it the album that could've came after 2001's Scars.

That's a bold statement, considering the fact that Scars was by far the band's most commercially successful album. That record gave the band their first hit single 'Halo'. Now we wait and see if Soil have another hit on their hands with 'The Hate Song'. Listen to it at maximum volume and advise as to whether we should crank it or yank it.
