Mavericks Sign Huge Big Man, Picking Up DeAndre Jordan for Four Years

Just when you thought the Mavericks were sitting on their hands in free agency. They go and do something like this and totally redeem themselves.

For me, this past season was one to forget for my Dallas Mavericks. I was not a fan of the Rondo trade. Losing Brendan Wright in that trade was a huge loss for the offense and defense of the team. Then the Mavericks lost some key players when free agency began.

Monta Ellis signed a four year deal with the Indianapolis Pacers. He has been a tremendous player the past few years for the team. How he never made an all star team is beyond me. He is one of the most underrated players in the league. More people need to give him some attention. Wish him the best in Indy.

The other key was Tyson Chandler signing with the Phoenix Suns. Who was the starting center the year the Mavs won their first championship. He came back last year after spending a few years on the Knicks. I was glad to see him back this past season, but sadly couldn't keep him. Now the Mavs are down a key big man.

Well the Mavericks made a huge splash in free agency by picking up one the best centers in the league with DeAndre Jordan. He is one of the best re-bounders and defenders in the league. We will see how he fits into Carlisle's system and hopefully he can help the Mavericks advance in the playoffs. DeAndre's deal is for four years and $80 million.
