In my household, I don’t know exactly what the guys are looking up and doing while they’re surfing the web. I know that my son looks up a lot of YouTube videos, and my husband is always looking up pinball machines, pinball parts, and pinball information. Beyond that, quite honestly, I don’t really care what they’re looking at as long as they aren’t looking up porn on my computer. My computer is for me to look up porn, and they can do it on their own PC.

Interestingly, since my son got his own laptop, I don’t have the virus problem that I had before…

Remember that classic moment in ‘Jersey Shore’ where Snooki got decked in the face by some moron? Well, a copycat crime just occurred at Rockfest in Kansas City, as a Snooki doppleganger got her faced kicked in by a similar moron — only this time, the attacker got the hell beat out of him at the music festival, which was headlined by Slash, Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch.

One of the cardinal rules of live shows is to never hit a woman. If a dude gets hit in the pit accidentally or on purpose, you shake it off or you settle it one-on-one. The danger of getting hurt at a rock show is one of the adrenaline-fueled reasons why live shows are so exciting and cathartic, but when you hit a girl, all bets are off — a lesson this guy won’t forget anytime soon.

The video starts off with a concertgoer trying to talk some sense into another guy who doesn’t look too happy. Apparently the Snooki clone was the final straw, as her words landed her a brutal boot to the face. Thankfully, this douchebag didn’t get away clean, as a gaggle of burly dudes quickly converged onto the attacker, sending him to the ground and beating the holy hell out of him.

Guys like this thug here serve as complete misrepresentations of how rock and metal fans act at live shows. The moral of the story is — if you’re going to act as a harmful and brutal male stereotype, you’re going to get what you give. A rock crowd is a singular body — if someone falls, you pick them back up, if someone drops their glasses, you give the person space to find them again … but if you go against what is best for your fellow concertgoers, you will be exiled.

A 67-year-old went out for some fun the other night, and part of that fun was several lap dances at the Red Parrot Lounge in El Paso. What the man didn’t know is that after getting those lap dances, he would drop dead.

Apparently it was time for Robert Gene White to pay up, but workers found him unresponsive. They performed CPR but to no avail, and it would seem that White had a spectacular send-off.

I think any of us would be lying if we didn’t admit that we’ve wondered how we’ll die. I would love for it to be in my sleep so that I’m blissfully unaware of what’s happening. When I do think about my own death, however, a strip club has never been part of that equation. Maybe I should think more about it. After all, people leave their mark when they die, and what better way than with beautiful women?

I can’t help but wonder if this guy was married, and if he was, what his wife must be thinking.

Women are usually the ones who do this, and guys hate it.  If you have to shower, brush your teeth, take out your contacts, and wash your face before you get busy, chances are it won’t be very good.

4. You Act Like It’s a Favor.

This one’s mainly for women too:  Chances are if you treat it like something he wants to do but you don’t, it won’t be very good.

With that said, most guys would rather have bad sex than no sex at all.

5. You Jump Out of Bed the Second It’s Over.

If you wanna shower, fine.  But just lie there for a few minutes first.

If you immediately jump up and leave the room, it sends a message that you think you just did something gross, which isn’t much of a turn-on.  And if it happens consistently, it can be a major turn-off.

Valeria Lukyanova looks like someone you’ve met before. If you’re a girl, you’ve probably dressed her. If you’re a guy, you’ve probably wished more girls were like her. We’re talking, of course, about Barbie.

The 21-year-old Lukyanova, from the Ukraine, insists that she’s never had plastic surgery, yet plastic surgeons insist one would need to have ribs taken out in order to have her proportions. Whether or not she’s gone under the knife, she definitely has the look of a doll down pat. Her eye makeup, paired with porcelain-looking skin and mythical body proportions, make for an appearance that borders on creepy rather than sexy.

Some women are naturally thin, yet most of those women don’t have what appear to be 38DD breasts. While her rack is indeed beautiful, it doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of her frame. Her waist also seems abnormally small compared to her hips, but perhaps I’m just being a catty woman when I say that. While rock may be a male dominated world, when the women speak, they do so loudly. Two great examples of that are Amy Lee and her band Evanescence and Lzzy Hale with Halestorm. The two leading ladies have been crossing paths lately and have nothing but kind and supportive words for each other.

In a recent interview with 106.5 The End at last weekend’s Carolina Rebellion (May 12), Amy Lee raved about Hale and her masterful pipes. “I love her voice, she has a beautiful voice,” Lee said. “I had heard their [Halestorm] music. I went to check her out live to see if it was the real deal and she’s the real deal. She has a voice like … power! She’s powerful.”

With not a lot of female fronted bands on the rock circuit Lee talked about the experience of seeing Halestorm live. “I look forward to it,” she expressed. “I can get juiced up and inspired.”

Lee and Evanescence, currently out on tour in support of their latest self-titled disc also dished on the rules of the road. As seasoned vets, they definitely have some insight. “Always carry baby wipes, because some days you just can’t catch a shower,” reports Lee. “Hydrate, you have to drink a little or else you’re not going to be able to rock like you need to.”

When asked who they were most looking forward to seeing that day, Lee couldn’t name just one band, “We have friends here,” she admitted. “We love Korn. Chevelle – who we know, we’re going to tour with the later this year.” Evanescence will be overseas through the beginning of July. The tour with Chevelle has not yet been officially announced so fans certainly have that to look forward to.

I’m admittedly new to Dead Sara even though they’ve been around for a minute, but hey – better late than never. The band reminds a lot of the early 90′s alternative scene both in sound and substance and I can really see this band taking off – especially in the Alternative scene. It wouldn’t be the first time that I’ve been wrong about a band if they don’t in fact take off but in my opinion they have the tools to do so.

I think the thing about Dead Sara that is most attractive to me is their stripped-down sound. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of big production but less is definitely more when it’s done right and producer Noah Shain did the band a solid in that department.

The band’s known for their high energy performances and the video displays the sort of passion that frontwoman Emily Armstrong puts into their live show. Our next chance to catch Dead Sara live will be when the Vans Warped Tour rolls through Dallas at Gexa Energy Pavilion Tuesday, July 3.

“Weatherman” comes from Dead Sara’s self-titled debut out now on Pocket Kid Records.

Seasons of Mist

Black metal frontman Trondr Nefas from the Norwegian band Urgehal has passed away at age 35. After 20 years of making black metal with Urgehal, Nefas suddenly died in a manner which the band described as “peaceful and natural” in an official statement.

Urgehal’s record label, Seasons of Mist, were the first to announce the sad news of Nefas’ passing. “We are deeply sorry to announce that Urgehal guitarist / vocalist Trondr Nefas just passed away. More news and official statement to follow soon. RIP.”

Having formed in 1992, Urgehal have released six full-length albums and a number of demos, EPs and splits. From their first full-length release of ‘Arma Christi’ in 1997, the band have remained loyal to their raw black metal sound all the way through to their latest release, ‘Death is Complete.’

Earlier today, Urgehal released an official statement, mourning the loss of their frontman.

The greatest is gone. Trondr Nefas, our dearest friend and companion for more than 20 years, suddenly passed away last week. He died a peaceful and natural death at one of his favourite places, surrounded by woods and crystal lakes. Thanks for all the years with friendship, music and madness. For the good times and the bad times. Through your dark devotion for black metal, you have inspired so many. You were a true pioneer. We will miss you, but never forget you, because your legacy will live on. Our deepest sympathy goes to Trond’s fiancée Octavia, and both of their families. We appreciate all of the condolences and support given to us after his tragic death.
