Five Best Chicken Fried Steaks in Wichita Falls
Now that the votes are in, check out the top five places to grab a chicken fried steak here in Wichita Falls.
Located at 4517 Southwest Parkway, Marty’s Pioneer is one of those restaurants that sums up everything that’s good about food in this part of the country. They serve everything from Tex-Mex to fried catfish and everything in between. It’s no wonder they made the list of top chicken fried steaks in Wichita Falls.
Cotton Patch Cafe
The only chain restaurant to make the list, Cotton Patch is a family-friendly Texas-born chain that specializes in Southwestern recipes that are made from scratch. Check out their location at 3201 Lawrence Road in the Academy Shopping Center.
Wichita Falls Elk’s Lodge 1105
Elk’s Lodge was the big surprise of the poll as it received all of its votes as a write-in. The chicken fried steak voted third best in the Falls is only offered on a limited basis. We tried to get a pic of their chicken fried steak but they won’t have any until the weekend – so get one before it’s gone! Find Elk’s Lodge at 4205 Seymour Highway.
One of the oldest restaurants in Wichita Falls, Pioneer #3 is another one of those restaurants that embraces the grub that makes living in this part of the country worth it. The little restaurant at the corner of Old Iowa Park Road and Sheppard Access Road is always busy around lunch time – and for good reason.
To tell you the truth, I expected Parkway Grill to be voted number one. While all of the restaurants on this list are worthy of the top spot, Parkway’s reputation for a great chicken fried steak precedes it. Try the chicken fried steak voted best in town at either of their locations: The original at 2719 Southwest Parkway or Parkway North at 2710 Central E Freeway.
