At 3:24 p.m. Thursday, eleven Wichita Falls police units responded to a shooting on Polk avenue near Avenue H/Avenue I. The 911 caller said someone had been shot in an alley, police say.

Due to the close proximity of Wichita Falls High School and Zundy Elementary, the schools were alerted and placed on a brief lock down until police gave the all clear around 3:50 p.m.

One male victim was taken to United Regional hospital in unknown condition.

Police are still searching for the suspect, described as a Hispanic male with dark hair, possibly balding, wearing a brown shirt and dark shorts.

We will update this post with more info as it becomes available.
