In a recent interview with VH1, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi opened up about the accident that claimed his fingertips, effectively changing the course of metal history.

While working as a welder, Iommi spent the second half his last day on the job before heading out on tour with a band called The Birds and Bees operating a machine he wasn't familiar with until things went sideways. The accident turned out to be a blessing in disguise that would lead to the unique guitar tone that's influenced pretty much every single metal guitarist in the world.

The result of the interview paired up with the outstanding animation courtesy of U.K. artist Paul Blow is the animated short "Fingers Bloody Fingers".
