Did you catch the latest episode of South Park on Wednesday night (Oct. 18)? In one of the funniest episodes so far this season, the kids sang some “oldies” to a group of elders, serenading them with Nirvana’s “Rape Me” and Green Day’s “When I Come Around.”

South Park’s “Hummels & Heroin” episode tackles America’s opioid epidemic along with the prison system. Stan’s grandpa is one of the central characters for the first time in who knows how long, being forced to deal drugs in exchange for hummel figurines. It’s a dramatic rollercoaster, but there were some moments of comedic levity, including the time Kenny, Cartman, Kyle and Butters sang as a barbershop quartet.

“Our youth group has come to lift your spirits with some songs to take you down memory lane,” Cartman says. “We hope you can enjoy some nice old people music.” Everything was from the ‘90s or 2000s, but it definitely brought us down memory lane.

If South Park is going to pick a Nirvana song, of course, they’re going to choose “Rape Me.” The elders were not impressed with the boys’ rendition of the In Utero cut, nor were they roused when Green Day’s “When I Come Around” made an appearance.

Check out the entire episode above, with the alt rock songs starting up at around the 17:30 mark of viewing.
