May 16, 2015, marks the fifth anniversary of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio‘s passing. To pay tribute to Ronnie and his contributions to the metal scene, we sat down with a bunch of today’s biggest names and invited them to share stories and thoughts about Ronnie James Dio.

In this clip, Full Metal Jackie talks with Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix about the immortal heavy metal vocalist. Shaddix begins this clip by uttering a sentiment that a lot of us and agree with: "Ronnie James Dio [is the] best metal singer of all time. I've got no problem saying that."

After sharing his admiration for Ronnie James Dio's body of work, Shaddix speaks about how Ronnie would ignite a stage upon stepping onto it and how the singer's voice sounded phenomenal until the very end. Jacoby even witnessed Ronnie sing for six hours straight without his power diminishing one bit.

Much like our other interviewees for this series, Shaddix praises Ronnie's incredible brainpower in being able to remember a tremendous amount of people and information. Shaddix had no problem talking about how he freaked out after Dio remembered the Papa Roach musician's name.

Watch Jacoby Shaddix pay tribute to Dio in the video above and look out for more 'Remembering Ronnie James Dio' videos from Loudwire. If you're in the L.A. area, find about the memorial activities taking place in honor of Ronnie James Dio this coming weekend (May 15-17) here.
