Yesterday (Dec. 28), the rock and metal communities lamented the loss of Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister on the one year anniversary of his death. A true legend in every sense of the word from his punishing brand of rock 'n' roll to his unwavering character, the tributes have been felt for a full year and they're likely to keep coming. The band Skew Siskin celebrated the life of Lemmy by uploading previously unseen footage of the icon at their Berlin, Germany studio, which shows Lem writing bass lines, enjoying a fun conversation and even managing to be funny just by combing his hair.

"Lemmy spent a zillion hours in our studio over the years. Lots of stories, many musical ideas, jokes a.s.o. - Recorded with a cheap video camera - poor quality - it doesn't matter. Simply great memories," states the video's caption. The footage opens up with text across the screen that reads, "2 amps + 4 cabinets on 11 / 6 microphones for direct - room - and overtones sound," demonstrating Motorhead's "Everything louder than everything else" motto perfectly.

The video rolls on to show Lemmy sitting down with his bass as he worked on new song ideas in the studio. Following this, the Motorhead mainman is seated at a table with a bottle of Jack Daniels among other things, recalling a deal he got on two amplifiers. Everyone had heard stories about his lighthearted demeanor coupled with intelligence and it's on display when he wrote down the name of the longest city in the world (Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, located in Wales) from memory and proceeded to pronounce it without a hiccup, quipping, "Try and say that when you're drunk!"

Check out all the greatness in the video above.

As we continue to miss Lemmy, we have stories and footage like this to keep his spirit alive. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo recently shared his favorite Lemmy story with Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez, recalling the time he introduced the Motorhead legend to Joni Mitchell and was caught between the two of them, a bit starstruck, as they hit it off immediately with a great conversation.
