Mack Brown Reportedly Out At Texas, Set To Resign This Week [POLL]

Sources claim that long-tenured University of Texas Longhorns football coach Mack Brown is expected to resign by the end of the week. The Horns finished the season with a loss to Baylor, ending the year with an 8-4 record and setting a matchup with Oregon in the Alamo Bowl.

"I'd be real surprised if it hasn't happened by Friday night with the (Texas) football banquet. I think it will be taken care of. It wouldn't drag on much longer," the source said.

Brown, who has been the UT coach for 16 seasons, hasn't had the success that Texas fans expect over the last few years. The pinnacle of his tenure was the magical 2005 BCS championship over USC.

"By the end of the week, that will be the outcome," the source told ESPN. "That will happen. It's a shame after 16 years he's not able to do it on his own with dignity and grace."

Brown has been on the "hot-seat" for the last two years, splitting the Texas faithful over whether he should stay or go. Now we ask you, is this the right move for Longhorns?
