Given you're not terrified of it, lightning is quite the sight to behold.

I can totally understand someone having a fear of something that can harm or kill them, but I love to watch lightning (as long as I'm safely tucked away inside, of course).

As awe-inspiring as watching lightning strike in real time is, you typically only get a split-second glimpse of its majesty.

Now, thanks to the folks at NASA's Geospace Physics Laboratory, who captured a lightning storm at 7,000 frames per second, you can watch lightning as it forms in the clouds and then streaks down the sky before ultimately making explosive contact with the ground.
