My girlfriend is so hot that when I’m in her I, like, come really fast. How can I slow things down? — Nate, 22 Iowa
You’re not alone! The #1 male sexual problem is premature ejaculation—ejaculation that occurs sooner than desired, either before or shortly after penetration, causing distress to one or both partners.
Fortunately, premature ejaculation today is relatively easy treat, especially if you and your partner can talk easily about sex. There are many techniques used for centuries (particularly in Asian countries) to delay ejaculation. For example, check out the books of Jolan Chang. Those techniques can work wonders—so check them out. Also, if you’re not using a condom, try one—that, alone, can reduce penile sensation enough to allow you to last longer. Some prescription anesthetic creams are available that mildly numb the penis and delay orgasm.
Finally, a low dose of some types of antidepressants delay orgasm in both men and women. The effects occur within about four hours of ingestion, which means you can use them only when needed.
