Could this summer get any better Buzzhead? We are already expecting new albums from Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, Skillet and Megadeth along with several others and that's only covering the first half of the year. So how could it get better? How about a Five Finger Death Punch double album? With the first installment of this unnamed album hitting shelves July 23. Can it get any better?

Zoltan Bathory, guitarist for the band said, "We came off the road after a couple of great years of touring and were really amped up to write the fourth record . . . (we) found ourselves 12-13 songs deep fairly quick but were still coming up with better and better material so we looked at each other and said, 'OK, why stop there? Let's keep going.' Once we passed the 24th song, we knew we're going to have to do a double album."

Bathory has also told reporters that everyone in the band can write music and come up with songs and stated, "We had this massive amount of music that's very dear to us, possibly the best material this band has ever created. At that point there was no way to decide which songs to leave off the album. So we made the decision to release them all."

That's what I like to hear. And although the first single, "Lift Me Up," from the album won't hit radio until May 13, the band will premier the new single tonight(May 2) at the Revolver Golden God Awards in Los Angeles and will feature a special unnamed guest.

FFDP will then kick off the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival on June 29 along side Rob Zombie and good news for us, the tour will swing thru Austin and The Woodlands before wrapping up in Dallas on August 4. So get those tickets!

Now back to the Revolver Golden God Awards. You've been told FFDP will debut their latest single but they aren't the only band that's going to take the stage tonight. Expect performances from Metallica, Danzig with special guest Doyle, Anthrax, Stone Sour, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Halestorm. The Black Carpet pre-show with host Sebastian Bach kicks off at 7 p.m. PST with the award show starting at 8 p.m. PST. Metallica is set to receive the "Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement," Rob Zombie will get the “Golden God Award" and Tony Iommi will be honored with the "Riff Lord" award.

You can watch the Award Show on AXS TV, Facebook or on Xbox Live.
