Courtney Love has taken credit for inspiring many Smashing Pumpkins’ songs. The rocker-actress recently opened up, saying that the majority of tracks on the Pumpkins’ 1993 album ‘Siamese Dream’ are about her, as well as tunes from 1995’s ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.’

In an interview with the BBC 6Music show ‘The First Time With…,’ Love was asked whether she had a favorite Smashing Pumpkins song. She claimed, “Yeah, loads, because there are so many of them that are about me. Most of 'Siamese Dream' is about me. There's a song called 'Bodies' that's on 'Mellon Collie' and 'Today' and 'Tonight Tonight.'" She continued, "Then he stopped writing about me, and then he stopped making hits… There’s one on Siamese Dream called ’Spaceboy’ — that’s about his brother. But the rest are all pretty much about me.”

Love also said that she also inspired the song ‘Where Boys Fear to Tread,” off of ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.’ Love said the song is about her brief relationship with Trent Reznor “and how mad [Corgan] was about that.”

The Hole singer also said that Corgan is "one of the greatest bass players" and that he is "a better bass player than guitar player." She added, that he "can't seem to get over the hump to become relevant again." She added he is doing "all sorts of wack-a-doodle things to do that and it just doesn't seem to work for him."

Long before Love was involved with the late Kurt Cobain, she dated Corgan and rumors swirled that the two rekindled their relationship after the Nirvana frontman’s death. Corgan co-wrote five songs on Hole’s 1998 effort ‘Celebrity Skin,’ including the title track, which is the band’s only song to hit No. 1 on the Modern Rock chart.

Love will soon take the stage in the pop opera titled 'Kansas City Choir Boy.' The experimental show will launch in New York City in January. Tickets are available here.
