Just a couple of days after an onstage meltdown at the iHeart Radio Music Festival, news is coming out that Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day is headed to rehab for substance abuse. It’s not clear if he’s seeking help because his f-bomb laced rant was caught on video and went viral, or if there were plans in the works prior to this weekend’s performance.

At the festival in Vegas, Armstrong was upset because Green Day’s set was cut down from 45 minutes to just 25 in order to give Usher more time on stage.

If I was Armstrong, I’d be pissed too.

Now the band released a statement on Facebook, saying:

Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.

Uno! hits stores on Tuesday. It’s the first of three albums the band will be releasing over the coming months.
