A Ridiculous Throwback Video for Your Sunday – Mr. T’s ‘Treat Your Mother Right’

Mr. T has done a slew of acting roles, but when I hear his name, it reminds me of one of my favorite shows from the 80's, The A-Team. During the height of his fame he was known by everyone, and even the younger generations of today are familiar with his dozens of gold chains, snarling face, and famous mohawk. He's known for being a tough guy, when in reality he loves his mama just like the rest of us. At one point he was on a television special, and he sang the song “Treat Your Mother Right,” which not only sent a positive message, but reminds us today just how ridiculous the 80's were. It's been around for a while, but it's always nice to re-visit videos that remind us that we've evolved.

While it's hard to keep your eyes off Mr. T during the video, I encourage you to check out the backup singers. Not only are they out of synch with one another, their clothing “screams” 80's. By screams, I mean they're screaming for someone to please take them away.

I'll leave you with an interesting factoid about Mr. T and his jewelry. According to Wikipedia (which you can choose to believe or not), his jewelry was worth $300,000 at the time and took an hour each day to put on. Carrying it around would have been a workout in and of itself!
