I’m Shocked To See This Is The Third Most Used Language In Texas

As we all know, English is the first language spoken in Texas, and America of course. Spanish is the second most common language spoken in the state and country as well. Those are the easy ones to figure out.

However, there are many other languages that are spoken in the country, and I thought it would be interesting to see just which ones come AFTER English and Spanish in the country.

The results I found were actually REALLY interesting as I didn't think some of these different languages would be so prominent, and definitely not in the parts of the country where they were. It kind of showed me that there are definitely regions those of different ethnicities tend to live.

One of the least surprising things to me was that across the country, German was the top third language used in the United States. There were nine states where German was listed as the top third language, and they were definitely in groups.

The area of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and North Dakota was one region, while the other was Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and South Carolina.

French checked in as the second most common third language used in the United States with seven different states popping up. They were all predominantly on the east coast.

So where is Texas and which language is the third most common language in the United States? They both fall in the same category. Vietnamese is the third most common language in the United States, and in Texas.

In fact, it also followed the pattern of being grouped as Oklahoma and Kansas also had Vietnamese as their third most commonly used language. I can safely say I didn't expect the third most common in Texas to be Vietnamese, but that's the beauty of being surprised right?

Rounding out the top five in the United States was Chinese, where five states have it as their third most common language, and there was a tie for fifth between Arabic and Portuguese with three states a piece.
