Wichita County 4-H Spring Break Camps Announced
Looking for something fun and useful to do over spring break?

Wichita County 4-H has two awesome camps lined up that could teach you skills you’ll use in real life, whether in an emergency or when babysitting your little siblings for some extra cash.
Emergency Preparedness
The first camp, happening on Monday, March 10, is all about emergency preparedness. That means learning what to do in situations like storms, fires, or other emergencies. Experts from the Forestry Service, the Wichita Falls Health Department, Animal Services, Texas Department of State Health Services, 911 Dispatch, and Texas A&M Agrilife Extension will all be there to teach you important safety skills. The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Northwest Texas Field & Streams (2005 Southwest Parkway, Wichita Falls). It costs $25 (which includes lunch), and you must register in advance to attend.
Safe Babysitting
Later that week, on Thursday, March 13, 4-H is hosting a SafeSitter class at the Wichita County Courthouse. If you’re thinking about babysitting or just want to know how to take care of younger kids in a responsible way, this class is for you. You’ll learn first aid, what to do in emergencies, and how to handle tricky situations while babysitting. The class runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., costs $65, and comes with a meal and a babysitting toolkit. Spots are limited, so if you’re interested, sign up fast!
