Houston Zoo Animals Embrace Rare Snowy Day in Texas
Snow in Houston is already a rare sight, but seeing zoo animals enjoying it? That’s something you don’t see every day.

Last week, when a winter storm rolled through Texas, the Houston Zoo turned into a snowy playground, and its animals wasted no time having fun. You can check out the video at the bottom of this article.
Look at Them, They Love It!
An Asian elephant stomped through the snow in its enclosure, kicking up flurries with every step. Over in another area, a river otter had a blast sliding down icy patches, looking like it was having the time of its life.
The Really REALLY Love It
While most people in Texas were stuck dealing with icy roads and freezing weather, the animals got to explore their new snowy world. Zoo staff made sure all the animals were safe and cozy, with heated shelters ready if they needed them. But many, like the elephant and otter, seemed more interested in playing.
A Little winter Magic Indeed
For a state that’s usually all about hot summers, this surprise snowstorm allowed everyone to enjoy a little winter magic.
