Wichita Falls’ Own Hotter’N Hell Hundred Named One of the Best Bike Events in the Country
Congratulations to the Hotter'N Hell Hundred for once again being one of the best bike events in the United States.
Back in 1982, the Hotter'N Hell Hundred started as a way to celebrate the centennial of Wichita Falls. Ride 100 miles, in 100 degree heat, for 100 years of Wichita Falls. The ride has since become an annual tradition in August and is one of the biggest events in Wichita Falls each and every year.
The Hotter'N Hell Hundred attracts on average thirteen to fourteen thousands riders each and every year. It is one of the largest sanctioned bike events in the country year after year. USA Today just yesterday, had it in their top ten for 'Best Road Bicycling Events for 2025'.
What Did USA Today Say About the Hotter'N Hell Hundred?
Called "a Texas 'ride' of passage," Hotter'N Hell Hundred is one of the oldest and largest bicycling events in the country. You might need to be a bit mad to take on the Endurance Ride — which lives up to its billing of "hell on wheels" — as riders must bike 100 miles in the often 100-degree August heat. However, there are plenty of perks to keep you sane, from a pre-race spaghetti dinner, breakfast buffet, and sports massages to the welcoming Finish Line Village where you can cool off.
Sadly this year, the Hotter'N Hell Hundred lost the 1st place spot. In 2024, they were named the best in the country. This year Hotter'N Hell came in at 3rd place for best road cycling events in the country. Last year's 2nd and 3rd place victors took the top spots in 2025 above the Hotter'N Hell Hundred.
When is the Hotter'N Hell Hundred for 2025?
Hotter'N Hell Hundred weekend is scheduled for August 21, 2025 to August 24, 2025. The big ride will be taking place on August 23rd. As always, you don't have to ride 100 miles if you don't want to. 75 Mile; 100K; 50 Mile; 25 Mile & 10K are all options as well. For more info on registration, check out the Hotter'N Hell website.
