WWE Might Have A Leak In Their Creative Department
Something that a lot of people don’t give enough credit for in the world of “Sports Entertainment” is the creative department, the ones charged with coming up with the short and long-term story plans. While many of the wrestlers themselves have a hand in their storylines, a collection of writers with experience in both television and pro wrestling are also in on constructing the storylines to take the WWE from event to event. And unfortunately, there seems to be someone within the company leaking storyline information to outside sources.
Back in February, a Reddit user with the name “Dolphins1925″ posted his/her picks for the pay-per-view event “Elimination Chamber”, correctly guessing the end of each of the matches on the card. While this could definitely be a spell of lucky guessing, Dolphins1925 has since correctly “guessed” the ending of each and every of the pay-per-view matches the WWE has put on since, including this past Sunday’s “Money In the Bank”. Originally believed to be someone working directly for WWE, Dolphins1925 has explained that he/she isn’t a WWE employee, but has a source within the company. Not only that, Dolphins1925 explained his/her reason for posting the spoilers, to embarrass the company and expose the untrustworthy employees who are willing to give out this information,
I would like to clarify once again that I DO NOT work for WWE. I am not a WWE Superstar, I am not with; the lighting crew, the camera crew, the sound technicians, the stagehands, the prop guys, the merchandise sellers, nor the popcorn vendor in the 15th Row, “Congratulations, Louie!”
I am just a WWE fan like everyone else, and I am getting my information from a source who has VERY credible inside information regarding the outcomes (win/losses) of the matches themselves. Given that this information is out there, we both feel that I should continue to share this information until it garners the attention of WWE. Vince and upper management are not taking reasonable measures to prevent this information from being leaked. These people whom are leaking this information are profiting off it at the expense of the WWE, the fans, and the integrity of the product. It is for these reasons that I am hoping to put an end to WWE insiders leaking PPV outcomes.
Also, I feel that WWE owes the fans. They need to be more protective of the actual results as a fellow Redditor had stated in the thread. It is hurting the integrity of the product, and I should not have access to this information.
Dolphins1925’s Reddit account was created in February just before the “Elimination Chamber” event, and has only been used to post match spoilers on the Reddit category “r/SquaredCircle” just minutes prior to the events. Normally, to keep their plans as secret as possible, very few people are aware of the entire plans for a given event. The writing team knows the details, which are usually made known backstage shortly before the event, around the time Dolphins1925 posts the spoilers. While Dolphins1925’s intent is to rock WWE’s boat, the WWE only became aware of this situation this week, issuing a statement yesterday,
We may have a modern day Nostradamus on our hands. We might have to monitor these posts in advance of our next pay-per-view to see how good he or she really is.
While WWE seems to be taking things in stride with this situation, rumors are that executives at WWE are furious that an employee would divulge their story plans to an outside source.
